Appalachian Towns

Why We Love Appalachian Towns

There is something distinctly different about southern Appalachian mountain towns. The pace, the people, the music, the food…it’s all part of what makes Appalachia so unique. It’s easy to fall in love with the beauty of the rolling mist over the blue mountains on a spring morning or the golden fiery sunset of an autumn afternoon.

I’m a descendent of Tennessee mountain folk and the stories from bygone eras are filled with hardship, love and triumph. It’s a story many mountain families share and it’s part of what makes this region so wonderful to visit today. You can drive along the Blue Ridge parkway for an afternoon or spend a week in a quaint mountain town, and either way, you’ll find something beautiful about the mountains in the south.
